Every time I visit the lovely city of Maastricht, it feels like I’m in Paris. Little Paris, that is. The romantic streets, cute bakeries with the best croissants and macarons, quiet hidden gems and the most stylish and exclusive boutiques. Normally I visit Maastricht a few weeks before Christmas (I love that time of year when the city looks like so magical with lots of Christmas lights, hot mulled wine on every corner and fairylit wooden chalets.) but I could not wait any longer. Even on a grey and rainy day, Maastricht looks so pretty!
If you’re planning to visit Maastricht, I can definitely recommend Bread & Delicious for a tasty breakfast. They serve croissants, macarons, scones with clotted cream and lots more. I cannot think of a better way to start your day. For lunch I went to a lovely little place called Café Zondag where the best sandwiches, salads and bagels of the city are served. In the afternoon, I visited some of my favourite boutiques, Le Marais, Fred de la Bretonière and Nina’s Boutique. They are known for their impeccable taste, Scandinavian brands and elegant and stylish interiors. I simply love Maastricht.
