Launched in May 2014, I wanted a place to organize my unbiased tips for favorite food places, shopping discoveries, weekend readings and city guides. So at first, it felt like a place to document all these different things but it has since evolved into a lot more. A homemade life is a place where I hope to make you feel inspired by the delightful – and sometimes challenging – side of day-to-day life. A place to share my love for food, city trips, travels and photography. My blog has become an ever evolving mix of authentic, chic and sophisticated content.
In June 2014 I graduated from the University of Amsterdam. After 4 internships – the last one at L’Oreal – I landed an online marketing job at a renowned wine company where I happily expanded my knowledge of wine. After one year I switched from wine to cosmetics and landed a job at Rituals, located within a historic building in the heart of Amsterdam centre where I spend most of my time during the week. Maybe that’s why I’m so in love with Amsterdam and its cobbled little streets..
I prefer comfy clothes to high heels. I’m happy at home in Amsterdam and even happier when I’m strolling the streets of Le Marais in Paris. I love Sunday mornings especially when they include breakfast at Ree7 in the Nine Streets. I also love chai tea, photography, freshly baked scones, interiors, and I’m (hugely) addicted to Instagram and chocolate.
