May In Instagrams

A homemade life May In Instagrams

I always love the month May and this time it was no different. I celebrated my little sister’s birthday at the most cozy place in the Negen Straatjes in Amsterdam, called Ree7. We enjoyed American pancakes with homemade jam, lemons, fresh jus d’orange and French croissants. The beginning of a perfect weekend! That same day I travelled to London to spent a few days in this vibrant and lively city and finally meeting up with a dear friend of mine who has been living in this city for a few years now.

On Mother’s Day, my sister and I took my mum for high tea (with freshly baked scones and clutted cream) at a little place called HoneyPie (how cute is this name by the way?) and gave her the prettiest pink tulips to thank her for simply being the best mum we could ever wish for.

Spring In London

A homemade life Spring In London

As promised I’d like to share a few of my London tips. I was only in the city for two days, but I did try to see most of the things on my little list. I mostly kept to the west part of London since my hotel was located in this part of the brilliant city. I walked until my legs fell off but it was definitely worth it!

Here’s a few London tips if you’re planning a trip any time soon: Ladurée, Hyde Park, Liberty London, Notting Hill, Hummingbird Bakery, Bond Street, Harrods’ Food Hall, St. James’s Park, Cafe Monocle, Regent Street, Cafe Everbean and Victoria & Albert Museum.

Weekend Reading

A homemade life New York Ladurée

  • Last week it was finally time for the Cannes Film Festival. One of the biggest red carpet events of the year with the most incredible dresses and suits and a dreamy venue. I especially loved Charlize Theron’s Dior dress and Naomi Watts in an amazing Elie Saab creation
  • Take a peek at these photos of the best dressed list of the Met Gala that took place in New York.
  • As you may know by now I love to wine with my friends. Whether the occasion is a birthday dinner, celebrating a promotion and wanting an evening to myself to unwind for a little bit after a long day at the office, I am always ready for a glass of wine! That is why I love these wine tasting tips from Lauren Conrad.
  • If there is one place I love in Paris then it’s Ralph’s. Tucked away in this vibrant city, it’s the perfect place for a little escape and tasty food! Hana from the ever-inspiring blog Journey Into La Ville Lumière beautifully photographed this magnificent place on her blog.
  • Planning a weekend away in Marseille? Then you cannot miss these amazing photos from Wish Wish Wish. They make me want to hop on the first plane to this lively city!

A Little Trip To London

Trip to London

I’m off to London for the weekend and I am so excited! I can’t wait to visit all the cozy bakeries with the most tasty scones and cupcakes, wander the streets of Notting Hill and finally meeting up with a friend of mine who’s been living in London for the past few years again.

The past few weeks have been incredibly hectic with a demanding (and amazing) internship at L’Oréal, trying to find time to see my friends and family, applying for a suitable job and working on improving my little blog. I hope you forgive me for not posting as much as I want to. Nevertheless, I hope you still enjoy my blog and I hope you have an amazing weekend as well! xx
