A glimpse of the sophisticated and photogenic life of Shini Park

Shini Park is the face behind the classy lifestyle and photography blog Park & Cube. She lives in the lovely city of London where she attended Central Saint Martins (Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen and even Marc Jacobs also attended this prestigious school) to study graphic design.

She started to write a blog in November 2008. From incredible photographs of her travels to inspiring stories of London, beauty, food (her favourite food is a tasty breakfast with fruits and pancakes) and fashion. She shares her personal thoughts on topics ranging from fashion to beauty, the hidden gems of London, the best places in the city to have dinner, such as The Connaught Hotel, Homa and Aubaine.

One of the first things I love to do every morning is read her amazing blog posts and get inspired by her talent to capture everything so beautifully.

Weekend Reading

May is almost coming to an end. I know it’s cliché but times really does fly by so fast sometimes. I guess that’s a good sign, right? Most of the time I spend my days planning, I always have lots of to-do lists with me. Why? I simply like being organized and plan my days for the coming week. However, it can also be nice at times to reflect for a moment and look back at what you have experienced along the way.

  • This week it was time for the 67th edition of the Cannes Film FestivalThe French Riviera location, the gathering of some of the world’s most famous actresses in one place, the expansive and incredible red carpet.. The film festival in Cannes is nothing short of magic with the romantic hairstyles and beautiful make-up choses by its Hollywood star attendees.
  • The freshly-baked scones with jam and clotted cream from De Bakkerswinkel are the best scones I have ever tasted. Perfect for an afternoon high tea or breakfast on a Sunday morning.
  • Last week, the chic and elegant diner in honor of the philanthropic partnership between Ralph Lauren and The Royal Marsden Hospital took place at the magnificent Windsor Castle. Prince William was the night’s host thanks to his role as president of The Royal Marsden. Cara Delevingne, Cate Blanchett and Emma Watson were among the guests that made their way to a drinks reception in the Palace’s Waterloo Chamber. It was an evening of incredible beauty and elegance.

Letters to Juliet

a homemade life verona italie

I love summer! Yes, I know it’s still spring and I hope you don’t get me wrong: I always enjoy this pretty time of year thanks to all the lovely birthdays (including my own birthday) and the flowers you find everywhere. At the same time, I almost can’t wait for summer to begin. Days spent at the beach with lots and lots of ice cream, warm summer nights with loved ones and taking a trip to Italy. Lucky for me, my first trip this year will be next week! I’ll visit the picturesque city of Verona in Italy together with my darling mum. I can’t wait!

You might know Verona from the film Letters to Juliet, but this magnificent city is most well-known for the love story of Romeo and Juliet. You’ll find traces of this tragic love story literally everywhere in Verona: Juliet’s grave, the balcony and the church where they supposedly tied the knot. I’ve been wanting to visit this city for ages and I’m so happy that time is finally here. Time to enjoy Italian ice cream and la dolce vita!

Her tip for intelligent and ambitious women? ‘I studied Business and Arts at Griffith University – but alone wouldn’t have been enough to get me where I am today. I truly believe you need to be doing more than studying these days – taking the initiative to do more in your spare time. This is where my blog comes in, and I think it’s helped a lot.’
