Weekend Reading

  • Carmen Hamilton, the face behind the successful blog The Chronicles of Her, shares her best tips for a better work wardrobe. Her best advice? Keep it simple. Invest in simple statement pieces. “It’s always worth spending a little more for unique pieces.”
  • Paris Fashion Week arrived last week and I was so excited to see the new Spring 2015 collections, especially the Haider Ackermann show (I loved, loved, loved the pastel shades, my favourite colour!) and the impressive Dior show with a beautiful parade of leggy white pants and tops in cotton pique. Every september the City of Lights looks like a magical runway with all the gorgeous models, impeccable shows and the most talented designers. Photographer Phil Oh spotted some of the best street styles in the city. I’m in love with this Valentino bag.
  • Are you planning a trip to Paris and in need of some style advice? Hop on over to Condé Nast Traveler where Carin Olsson, the face behind Paris in Four Months, shares her tips for dressing like a French woman. Her best advice is to keep your wardrobe simple and chic.
  • For some reason, pastel shades somehow always find their way into my closet. Although I love black dresses, dark blue skirts and so on, I simply can’t resist soft colours when it comes to shopping for clothes. That is why I’m in love with Puur Style, a webshop with the most gorgeous clothes you’ll ever find. I adore this beautiful silk top from American Vintage and this cosy poncho from Sessùn.
  • The talented and stunning model Karlie Kloss is unveiled as the new face of L’Oréal Paris. She follows in the footsteps of other inspiring women, such as Blake Lively and Eva Longoria. A spokesperson for the French beauty brand stated: ‘On catwalks where she catches lights with such intensity, through brilliant studies or a hectic life in New York, Karlie is definitely the perfect combination between grace and modernity, intelligence and hard work.’ I could not agree more and I think Karlie Kloss is a perfect fit for an inspiring and thriving beauty company such as L’Oréal.
  • George Clooney (Ok, I admit, I’m still secretly in love with him) and Amal Alamuddin tied the knot at one of the most opulent palaces in romantic Venice, the Aman Canal Grande, overlooking Venice’s Grand Canal. A beautiful wedding, a romantic boat ride at sunset and an intimate ceremony in the presence of family and close friends, I guess fairytales do exist..
