The incredibly talented Australian Kerrie Hess – who also lived in London, Hong Kong and Paris – (I have always dreamed of living in a chic Parisian apartment and this acclaimed illustrator has lived this dream with a lovely apartment that had all of the charm of old world Paris with pretty cornices and fireplaces) – is well-known for her chic, sophisticated and romantic designs that are loved by millions of people. Think designs for Chanel, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Christian Louboutin. She is inspired by the Paris-based photographer Carla Coulson, the styling of Grace Coddington for Vogue, dresses by Collette Dinnigan and her son.
Kerrie Hess (and yes, she is the sister of fellow illustrator Megan Hess) began her career as a graphic designer in the lovely city of London for The Independent Newspaper magazines. It’s the place where she began to illustrate for them on the side. She soon realized that although she still loved design, illustration was the love of her life. From that moment on, more and more illustration work started to trickle in from there. From Alexander McQueen to Printemps Paris, I am simply in love with the incredible fashion illustrations made by this lovely lady.
Below are a few of her dazzling and inspiring illustrations:
