October in Instagrams

A homemade life October in Instagrams

I spent the month of October visiting a few magical and amazing cities. While daydreaming about my stay in the most magical city of all, New York, I spent my weekends wandering around in Maastricht, a place that was made for me. Lots of small streets and charming bakeries. A few weeks later, I visited Antwerp in Belgium together with my darling mum and sister. I never realized how charming this city was. It’s safe to say I was amazed by the impressive architecture, the pretty hidden gems and the lovely old squares. I will definitely visit that city again. Hopefully some time soon.

Harper & Harley

The talented and chic Sara Donaldson is the blogger behind Harper & Harley, a sophisticated Australian fashion blog. Sara is dedicated to bring her reader inspiration in the way of creating the perfect wardrobe of key essentials pieces – like a timeless black  Givenchy bag, Victoria Beckham jeans and a Saint Laurent denim shirt – all while staying true to her relaxed chic black, white and grey philosophy.

So how did she decide on the name Harper & Harley? That answer is quite simple actually. She simply loves these names: Harper is the chic girl and Harley is more edgy and she feels like she sits in the middle of the two parallels. Harper & Harley is – in the words of Blair Wardorf – not a stop along the way, it is a destination. It is not only for inspiration for your own wardrobe and on how to wear these beautiful key pieces, it is also a guide for those who wish to follow suit and eliminate color from their wardrobes. Since I always mostly wear pastel colours, this blog is perfect for me!

Since Harper & Harley’s creation, Sara Donaldson has worked with several international brands. A few prestigious brands on her list: Gucci, Swarovski, Harpers Bazaar and Witchery.

A homemade life Antwerp

Chic Antwerp

I have to say, I never realized how pretty and chic the city of Antwerp is. Probably because the last time I visited Antwerp it was a grey and rainy day. However, that’s all in the past.

Last weekend, I visited this incredible city – and this time it greeted us with some amazing weather – together with my darling mum and sister. We spent the day enjoying the city, having a delicious lunch and doing some shopping (I was so happy to discover there is a Maison Ladurée shop in this city!). It felt so nice to escape my own city for a while to a place that is so pretty, with lots of cozy streets, typical Belgium waffles and lovely boutiques.

TrésorParisien

As you may have noticed, I have a thing for Paris and the Parisian way of life. I simply love all things French: freshly-baked croissants, Chanel, the romantic language – J’adore Paris! – Maison Ladurée.. My list is endless. That is why I love, if not adore, stories of women who are living their dream in the City of Lights. And Aisling Greally is one them. This talented and sophisticated lady is the face behind TrésorParisien, an inside guide to the chic and unique in Paris.

When Aisling first moved to Paris she was inspired by this beautiful city with its magical charm. While she was living her dream in the French capital, she also faced the challenge of adapting to Parisian life. After all, Paris is the city of the most talented designers, the most stylish socialites and the best restaurants and French pastries. Aisling needed to be inspired. She could not find anything online that spoke to her so she began to share her everyday life on her blog TrésorParisien.

TrésorParisien is her way of documenting her life in Paris, what’s happening and where to go in the city. Instead of photographing the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe, you will find photographs of hidden gems and pretty and original places in Paris. A few examples: Café de Flore for a tasty breakfast, Les Deux Abbeilles for lunch and Hemingway Bar for cocktails with girlfriends.

‘From the classical cafés of St Germain, to inspiring street style or a cosy little bistro, I take my readers on a journey of discovery through Paris.’
