September in Instagrams

A homemade life September in Instagrams

I’m slowly realizing that September has been one of the best months this year. I enjoyed dinners with the loveliest girls, had a summer picnic in the parc and I got the chance to visit New York City, a city that I have wanted to visit for a very long time. When I came back home, my city greeted me with me some amazing weather. I am so happy the sun and the blue sky finally decided to make an appearance! I am wishing you all a happy week!

My Favourite Photographers on Instagram

I have always been interested in photography. I love the way photographers share their (often impeccable) taste and stories through their photographs. I think that photography is something very personal and intimate. There are so many photographers that I admire deeply but these are the ones I’m drooling over the most at the moment.

A homemade life Favourite Photographs

Paige Jones

Paige Jones resides in California, a place that is definitely Pinterest-worthy and also a place that is very high on my travel list. How I would love to walk the streets of Beverly Hills, to take a swim and enjoy the lovely summer days in Laguna Beach.. A girl can dream, right? What I love most about the photographs of the talented Paige is that she sees beauty in everyday. She says she loves to create narratives through her photographs that will flood you with memories of your special day. She is one of the most talented photographers I’ve come across.

A homemade life Photography Favourites

Lani Elias Photography

Lovely, elegant photographs that will be engraved in your memory forever. She finds inspiration in people’s lives, the stories they tell and the impressive east coast of New Zealand. Lani Elias has a special way of capturing the beautiful light and the sweet moments in-between.

A homemade life Favourite Photographers

Esther Sun

Romantic, sweet wedding photographs of two people in love. I have been following her for a few months now and the photographs of Esther that capture the simple beauty and elegance of everyday things always inspire me.

Jelito de Leon

Quiet mornings spent at the beach, picturesque, hidden doors and interiors, charming and rustic images of everyday life, I simply love the photographs of the talented Jelito de Leon.

Chloe Lin

Belgian waffles with strawberries, smoked salmon, French fries, lavender blueberry acai bowl, fresh watermelon juice with mint.. Need I say more? There is plenty of deliciousness to find in Chloe’s gorgeous (and tasty!) photographs. And every once in a while, you get a glimpse of her everyday life in one of my favourite cities, New York City.

Weekend Reading

  • Planning a trip to Paris anytime soon? Here’s a French girl’s guide that shows what Parisian girls are wearing, drinking, reading and listening to right now. Enjoy your trip to the city of endless romance!
  • Many bloggers will tell you their life is not as extravagant as it appears to be. However, it seems that actually may be the case for Jenny Bergheim, the face behind the blog Margo & Me. Enjoy these photographs of her chic Hollywood home that is filled with lovely flea-market finds. Jennny, can I move in with you?
  • When I was a little girl, my parents, sister and me always spent our summer vacation in the Provence, and I have loved the French countryside ever since. These stunning photographs of Rue Rodier remind me of those blissful summers.
  • These might be the most romantic honeymoon photographs I’ve ever seen. They make me want to fly to Paris and get married. Right now.
  • Wedding bells! Lauren Conrad and William Tell finally tied the knot last weekend. She said ‘I do’ in a rustic-chic ceremony on the California coastline with family and some of her closest friends in attendance. Think elegant and romantic setting, homemade apple pie and lovely bridesmaids. I’m over the moon excited!
  • I visited Monaco last year in July and I thought it was a place that was undeniably romantic and yes, a little extravagant and decadent as well. If you’re planning to visit Monaco, Condé Nast Traveler shares some amazing tips for a weekend trip. My favourites are the Farmer’s Market and the Fontvieille Harbor.

A visit to New York

A homemade life Laduree

When I visited New York last week, I was a little overwhelmed at first. What’s the best place to have dinner? Where can I find cosy places to enjoy a quiet breakfast to start my day? What sights are on top of my list? I was a little naive thinking that after watching Sex and the City for years and years, I would know the city quite well by now. Well, I didn’t.

So I took a little trip to Pinterest and Instagram and discovered some of the prettiest places and sights that New York has to offer. I made a very long list of the things I wanted to see during my stay in The Big Apple that I would love to share with you:

  1. Ladurée Soho – I completely agree with you that Paris will always be the best place to eat macarons and other French pastries, but Ladurée Soho is worth a visit or two. I cannot think of a better and prettier place to Instagram one of Ladurée’s pastries than their newly opened garden. To me, it felt like I stepped into a fairytale. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you have to try the St Honore Rose Framboise, the raspberry macarons and the tart conversation vanille.
  2. Piccola Cucina – You don’t have to go to Italy to taste some delicious Italian food. There is plenty of Italian deliciousness in New York. I went to this typical Italian place to have lunch before meeting a friend but I could have stayed there all day.
  3. Bluestone Lane – A little piece of Australia right in the middle of New York. Bluestone Lane is a small, cosy coffee shop in West Village. The perfect place to start the day with some of the best Australian coffee and tea and to watch the passing West Village traffic. The moment you step into Bluestone Lane, it feels like you just stepped into a chic beach cafe close to the ocean.
  4. The New York Public Library – One of the most gorgeous libraries I’ve ever seen. I was so thrilled when I entered the library and amazed by the inspiring interior and hundreds of thousands of books. For me, it was love at first sight. Or, in the words of Carrie Bradshaw: “It’s the classic New York landmark that housed all the great love stories.”
  5. Bergdorf Goodman – Think intimate and elegant setting, a view of Central Park and freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream. A chic, feminine place where the best afternoon tea in the city is served.
  6. The Metropolitan Museum – If you’ve seen Gossip Girl, you probably know that the steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art are where Blair often has lunch with her closest friends. Now that I’ve seen the steps and the museum myself, I can imagine why. There is something magical about this pretty and magnificent museum. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Weekend Reading

A homemade life Weekend Reading

I spent this week sightseeing and eating way too many cupcakes in New York City. And to top it all off, I also got a glimpse of the craziness of New York Fashion Week. It’s safe to say that this has been one of the best weeks of my life and I am already planning my next visit to this inspiring city. Maybe a little visit in Spring.. Who knows.
